Compact Disc featuring “The Sounds of Green McAdoo”
The Green McAdoo Cultural Center is proud to announce that combined with other events highlighting roots music and the music of Anderson County, the songs that have been a part of the Green McAdoo events will also be celebrated. In time for the kick-off of the New Harmonies, Celebrating American Roots Music exhibit, there will be a CD release of songs that have been performed at some function of the Green McAdoo Cultural Center. These songs that we call, “The Sounds of Green McAdoo”, are being recorded at Chestnut Ridge Recording studio in Powell, TN and is under the direction of Jason Moore.
Jason is the musical director for Unity Choir, Anderson County Community Choir, and the Asbury United Methodist Church choir. He has a passion for music and has taken lessons from some of the best instructors in the area. He has already been in the studio with members from Unity, and Anderson County Choir, and will be recording soloists Delores Cole and Carolyn Wilkerson in the coming weeks. Also on this cd, will be the song that Rev. Alan Jones (former Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church) penned for the Clinton Desegregation Project, entitled “Mt. Sinai”.
